  • Optical quality
  • Aperture

The diameter of the mirror or objective lens is known as the aperture. The aperture also indicates the maximum resolving power and the amount of light the telescope gathers. Optical quality describes the telescope’s ability to transmit an unaltered image. There are three main categories of telescopes:

  • Cheap and Small Telescope (Poor Optical quality and a 70 MM refractor or an 80 MM reflector)
  • Medium Telescope (A 100 MM refractor or 150 MM Newtonian reflector)
  • Large Telescope (A 120 MM refractor, a 250 MM Schmidt Cassegrain, or 250 MM Newtonian reflector)

For observing different objects in the sky, you need different Optical requirements. You need a high-quality, small-sized 80 MM refractor for double stars, planets, sun, and moon.
